Wakehunter

Story

Set in the 11th resurgence (approximately 100k Earth years, by Gregorian Calendar), most of the galactic supercluster, Laniakea, is inhabited and developed. There is a veritable cornucopia of intelligent life spread across tens of thousands of galaxies, with varying levels of technology ranging up to Kardashev Type IV(from pre-industrial all the way up to galaxforming).

There is no overriding authority. Empires, polities, federations come and go over the millennia, imposing their particular brand of order over their local space for as long as they can. Technology is gained, lost, traded, rejected, rediscovered, and outmoded all the time.

You are a Wakehunter, pioneers that travel with new colonies, protecting them from pirates, privateers, and other dangers until they can protect themselves out on the frontier.

Gameplay

Protect colonies, and help them grow. Chase down the pirate threat, retrieve stolen technology, and rescue captured civilians in this 3D twin stick shooter RPG.

Upgrade and adjust your gear to meet the evolving pirate threat. As new pirate ships and fortresses arrive in your corner of the frontier, adapt and overcome with new weapons, drones, suits, tools, and deployables to meet the rising threat.

Wakehunter is in early development. As such, there will be bugs, new content will be added, and features may be reworked. We plan to keep the game free, forever, with donations and support from our community keeping it going.
