Weekend Wave #2


Hey All!

I bet you're wondering why there wasn't an update last weekend. Well... we started work on ability upgrades, and that led to one thing, then another, and then a further one, and so on for about 4 dives down the rabbit hole.

On the bright side, we are now 3 weeks ahead of schedule XD

Due to some under the hood updates, it required a bunch of changes to make it work, so we went and coupled in 3-4 changes that would have had to be done down the line anyways into one update. Without further ado, here is the list of changes:

Major Changes

- Added in a tutorial level to ease players into the game, and get them used to the movement and weapons before throwing them into the deep.

- Added a player ship  to the game. This is where players will go after all their missions, to rest and rearm. The ship currently has an armory that will allow players to unlock and change their weapons, and upgrade their abilities. More functionality will be added to the ship as time goes on.

- Abilities now have individually upgradeable stats, as opposed to upgrading the ability itself. This gives players finer control over what they want to spend their data on, along with giving us more options for game balance. As it currently is, the heal ability is more expensive to max out, but gives you more options for upgrading it along the way.

What's Next

With the new armory and upgrades system in place, we're planning to add in the grenades ability, along with damage reducing armor, and displaying the actual stats of the weapons in the armory.
